Postpartum body confidence

Postpartum body confidence

For many of us postpartum body confidence isn’t a thing.
Is it possible to have body confidence after a baby?
If it is, can I buy it?
How many of us feel like that?
Our bodies change so much during pregnancy and for many of us those changes are permanent.
You don’t recognise the body in the mirror anymore, and you miss the one you used to see.
You look at all the beautiful clothes you have that no longer fit, and you’re not sure will again.
You might have a new scar that you wish would fade.
Missing your body doesn’t make you ungrateful for your baby.
It doesn’t make you a bad mother.
It makes you normal.
Within the space of a few months the body that you’ve had all your life is gone and you’ve now got a new one.
It’s hard to get used to, and it’s a big adjustment.
You’re aloud to miss what you had.
You can simultaneously love your baby and hate your body.
You’re not vain. You’ve just gone through a huge change and are finding it hard to accept.
Take time for you, do something that you enjoy and that makes you feel good.
Whatever helps you feel like the beautiful woman that you are, do it.
Because you are beautiful.
And you deserve to feel it.
